Dahab is a small town situated on the southeast coast of the Sinai Peninsula in Egypt.
Formerly a Bedouin fishing village, located approximately 80 km (one hour drive) northeast of Sharm el-Sheikh, Dahab is considered to be one of the Sinai's most treasured diving destinations.
The shoreline of Dahab has become home to numerous restaurants, camps, shops and dive centres. The Bedouin village of Assalah at the north end of town is the place to witness the locals going about their daily business, the goats and camels roaming freely.
South of Masbat is Mashraba, the shopping area with bazaars selling everything from snorkelling equipment to spices and shishas, hand embroidered bags to dancing toy camels.
A host of activities in and around the local area offer visitors the chance to experience a unique part of Egypt. Desert, sea, coffee houses and bazaars, the radiant colours, noise and aroma – all go to make Dahab a very special place to visit.
